It might solve the problem of showing the date, but it’s confusing for users who think it’s an alert. We’ll consider it some more, but we simply don’t like this idea.

@Derek: Not at this time, might be something we’ll look into but no ETA or commitment.

@Stu: These are local alerts and if you create an event from, say, your Mac and they are in iCloud, the app wouldn’t get them unless you launch at least once-a-day. This is unreliable and we don’t want to go this route

@Dr. Bobby, @Kenyule, @Dirk: Nothing to comment on at this time.

@Dmitrii: You can do invites on existing events by editing, but not new events. This info is on our FAQ page.

@Mikeintosh: I meant about showing the date on the icon, which is what you originally asked.

Other apps (Week Calendar, Calvetica) have it.

I use Week Cal & Pocket Informant and they both have workarounds to show the date badge.

All I had to do to achieve this was to disable notifications for the Calendar app in Settings (set alert style and calendar alerts to “none”) and then enable the notifications for Agenda. Would this work for Fantastical too? In other words does Fantastical support local push notifications of calendar alerts if the built-in Calendar app notifications are disabled? I’ve been using Fantastical on my Mac since its release and am keen to try it out on iPhone too, but I’d like to know how the calendar alerts will work before purchasing the app. Thxs. The app looks amazing btw.

See the app Week Calendar for how this is done (yes it is a hack, but Week Calendar is *still* my only home screen calendar app).
